Being Thankful in These Times
A short Thanksgiving article that was featured in the Tribune during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With everything going on in our world right now, it may seem hard to be thankful for much. Even with all of this, there are always reasons to be thankful for. When we sit down and think about it, we have many things to be thankful for. We can be thankful for the things that we are fortunate to have. Maybe that’s the electricity that power’s our homes or maybe our house in general. The water that we have to drink and the food that we have to eat, these are all reasons why we should be thankful.
We can also be thankful for our friends and family. These people have always been close to us, and even though we may have not seen them as much during this pandemic, we have probably been communicating with them more than ever through email, text messages, or video chat. Our friends and family are very important to us and we value the ability to talk with them about whatever we are struggling with in our life. Through everything, our family and friends are always there for us.
We don’t have to be thankful for these things just on the day of thanksgiving but we can be thankful for everything in our lives every day of the year. When we reflect and think about what we can be thankful for, we realize that we have our entire lives to be thankful for. So, we should not hesitate to be thankful for everything we have every day of our lives.
